Start the Server Manager and click the\u00a0<strong>Add roles and features<\/strong> link in the Welcome Tile. If you already closed the Welcome Tile, make it visible again via the\u00a0<strong>View<\/strong>menu or in the left panel navigate to\u00a0<strong>Local Server<\/strong>, then in the right panel scroll all the way down to\u00a0<strong>ROLES AND FEATURES<\/strong>, click the\u00a0<strong>TASKS<\/strong> dropdown and choose\u00a0<strong>Add Roles and Features<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-2\">2. Skip the information page by clicking\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-3\">3. Select\u00a0<strong>Role-based or feature-based installation<\/strong> as installation type and click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-4\">4. We want to install the Wireless LAN Service feature on the local server which is also selected by default so choose\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-5\">5. The Wireless LAN Service feature is not a Server Role, so skip the Server Roles page by clicking\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-6\">6. At the Select Features page, scroll down and check the\u00a0<strong>Wireless LAN Service<\/strong> checkbox. Now, click the\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong> button to proceed.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-7\">7. At the confirmation page, optionally check the\u00a0<strong>Restart the destination server automatically if required<\/strong> checkbox as the Wireless LAN Service feature requires a restart to complete. You can also manually restart the server after the wizard completed. Click the\u00a0<strong>Install<\/strong> button to start the installation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-8\">8. After the installation has completed, your system will automatically restart if you checked the checkbox at <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.win2012workstation.com\/wireless-networking\/#step-7\">step 7<\/a>. Otherwise you can close the wizard and restart the server manually. In case you don\u2019t know yet what possibilities there are to restart Windows 8 \/ Windows Server 2012, read the\u00a0<a title=\" Windows 8 \/ Server 2012 Essential Knowledge - Shutdown\/Restart\" href=\"http:\/\/www.win2012workstation.com\/essentials\/#shutdown\">essentials page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-9\">9. Wait while your computer finishes the installation and restarts.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"step-10\">10. After logging in, move your mouse to the upper or lower right corner of the screen or press\u00a0<strong>WindowsKey + C<\/strong> to open the Charms bar. Next click the\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong> button, then click\u00a0<strong>Network<\/strong> to view the networks in your neighborhood and connect to them.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
