I searched for a solution to control the download speed, but I couldn\u2019t find any way to configure the WSUS download behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>Finally I found out that I only needed to set BITS in foreground mode. In WSUS 2.0 this could be realized by downloading the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/download.microsoft.com\/download\/7\/7\/4\/7745a34e-f563-443b-b4f8-3a289e995255\/WSUS%20Server%20Debug%20Tool.EXE\">WSUS debug Utility<\/a> and the command \u201c<code>wsusdebugtool.exe \/tool:setforegrounddownload<\/code>\u201c. Unfortunately the debug tool doesn\u2019t work with WSUS 3.0.<\/p>\n<p>But luckily I found another problem solution at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B922330&amp;x=7&amp;y=10\">KB922330<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are using WSUS 3.0 with a Windows Internal Database that was created by a default WSUS installation, type the following command:<\/p>\n<pre><code>%programfiles%Update ServicesSetupExecuteSQL.exe -S %Computername%MICROSOFT##SSEE -d \"SUSDB\" -Q \"update tbConfigurationC set BitsDownloadPriorityForeground=1\"<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>If you configured WSUS 3.0 to use an existing installation of SQL Server, type the following command:<\/p>\n<pre><code>%programfiles%Update ServicesSetupExecuteSQL.exe\" -S %Computername% -d \"SUSDB\" -Q \"update tbConfigurationC set BitsDownloadPriorityForeground=1\"<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>Now restart the Update Services service and your WSUS 3.0 will leech at full speed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My WSUS 3.0 server constantly got transfer rates between 10 and 30 kB\/s.
