You can use this procedure to force Active\u00a0Directory replication to occur between two domain controllers on a one-time basis when you want changes to be replicated from the server that received the changes to a server in another site sooner than the site link schedule allows. As an alternative, you can synchronize replication with all replication partners.<\/p>\n

Membership in\u00a0Enterprise Admins<\/strong>, or equivalent, is required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at\u00a0Local and Domain Default Groups<\/a> (http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkId=83477).<\/p>\n

To force replication over a connection<\/h4>\n

  1. \n

    Open Active Directory Sites and Services: On the\u00a0Start<\/strong> menu, point to\u00a0Administrative Tools<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0Active Directory Sites and Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    In the console tree, expand\u00a0Sites<\/strong>, and then expand the site to which you want to force replication from the updated server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Expand the\u00a0Servers<\/strong> container to display the list of servers that are currently configured for that site.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Expand the server objects and click their\u00a0NTDS Settings<\/strong> objects to display their connection objects in the details pane. Find a server that has a connection object from the server on which you made the updates.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Click\u00a0NTDS Settings<\/strong> below the server object. In the details pane, right-click the connection object whose\u00a0From Server<\/strong> is the domain controller that has the updates that you want to replicate, and then click\u00a0Replicate Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
